Kimber's Underpants Saga..(Temporary relief to owners for dog in heat)

When I started this blog I was going to keep it to food and things I made.  It looks like after the 2nd post I could not resist and had to bring in the pets:  Sorry If you have a soft stomach :)

Anyone that has ever had a dog in heat knows it is enough to drive one crazy. Especially when it is a 60lb lab....I guess I should be gratefull its not a 80lb lab. I can deal with Kimber's boyfriend (a black mutt that Hannah deemed the name Sirius Black) hanging around the yard for a month. But the mess on my bed this morning......I needed to seek out some dog heat advice.....via the internet of course.
The Bed Mess:

Phase I : After reading The "Heat" Cycle I went to Fred Meyers and got a tripple pack of Superman little boys underwear.  And akward as that was I had to pick up a pack of panty liners to put inside them.  I am sure the clerk thought I was going to use both of them.

Phase II:    Ta-Da! We're in business!

The attempt to rid the Superman cape!

"Cory...come back, help me get these off! "
"Get them off! "

"I give up!"

I dont really don't think these will stay on unless I had packing tape or Kimber didn't have teeth.  But I dont have tape and she has teeth.

Phase III: Unerpants for for tomorrow!

P.S. If you have not been humored enough by Kimber's new little get-up. I thought I got panty liners, but it looks like i got Poise (generic brand) on accident for bladder loss.....Looks like I will have to keep them around for another 30 years until I need them.

Leftover Meatloaf BBQ White Cheddar Cheese Sandwich

I made meatloaf last night and we only ate about half. I don't work until late tonight so I was home for lunch. I made myself such a great meatloaf sandwich I had to share what I did. I got the idea from a sandwich I had had a few months back at this local restaurant in Burien,WA. 909 Coffee & Wine .We frequent this great little lunch spot 2 times a week and always enjoy the food, coffee and company.

BBQ Meatloaf Sandwich with White Cheddar Cheese on Toasted Bread
makes 4 sandwiches

Ingredients:
4 thick slices leftover meatloaf
8 slices homemade or artisan bread toasted
4-8 slices of white cheddar cheese
1 sliced tomato
6-8 cleaned and washed pieces of green leaf lettuce
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
2 tbls horseradish.
Take 4 slices meatloaf and brown both sides in a non-stick sauce pan for 4-8 mins on medium. After warmed add cheddar cheese on top of the meatloaf, reduce to medium low heat and cover until cheese is melted. Meanwhile, toast all 8 slices of bread. While toasting mix your bbq sauce with your horseradish. After bread is toasted spread your BBQ sauce mix on one side of all 8 slices of bread. Add your meatloaf with melted cheese on top. Finish with tomatoes, and lettuce and slice in half. Serve warm with chips, salad or fruit. Enjoy :)

New Year = Lydia's New Blog

I told myself 2010 was the year I started blogging. Here I am starting 10 days late in 2010. The creation of Made To Order was not because Hannah gave me the book Julie & Julia for Christmas. Or the fact that I have run out of people to talk about my cats and dogs with. (Not that blogging and owning animals piggyback each other) The real reason is simple. I have been following a lot of great blogs for the past 2 years and I am inspires. There are some fantastic women (and men) out there that have wonderful blogs and have really helped me in a pinch: simple crafts, baking, cooking, God faith and fellowship, gift ideas, parties, decorations, holidays, budget saving tips, home projects, dining out. So finally I decided it is time I start doing my part and paying back all the borrowed tips, shared stories, recipes, testimonies, projects and secretes of the art of being better women (and men) together.

Looking forward to having a lot of fun together.
